This tour takes you on a journey back in time to learn about the history of the sugar production, which has long been one of Cuba’s main industrial activities. And this tour wouldn’t be complete without the chance to also taste the world-famous Cuban cigars, coffee and rums.
Visit an ancient sugar mill now converted into a sugar industry museum, where is summarized the history of the sugar production in Caibarien, from 1850 to 1998. Taste a piece of sugar cane or a freshly squeezed “guarapo” (sugar cane juice). Learn how to roll your own cigar, receive a cigar as a gift, and learn about the unique experience of pairing cigars with rum. Visit a cigar factory to discover the work of "torcedores" who specialize in the art of hand-rolling Cuban cigars. Enjoy a local coffee prepared in the traditional way. Enjoy some free time to visit the picturesque colonial town of Remedios. Enjoy a traditional meal in a Cuban hacienda. Receive as a gift a bottle of rum.
