City tour of Trinidad, the third town founded by the Spanish colonizers in Cuba, also known as the “the Museum City” and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visit the “Casa Del Alfarero” where you can watch pottery being crafted. Lunch. Free time to explore the cobbled streets of its historical center (Old Trinidad) and do some shopping at the handicraft market. Ride up the mountains of the “Sierra Escambray” while enjoying stunning views of the Trinidad Valley and the Caribbean coast. Check-in at Hotel Los Helechos located inside the Topes de Collantes National Park, about 5 km above Trinidad City.
Second day: Breakfast and check-out. Arrival to “Parque Natural El Cubano” for a walk through the “Huellas de la Historia” nature trails to enjoy the great variety of Cuban nature at the foot of the Guamuhaya mountain massif. The well-maintained trail follows a river with sometimes a few hanging bridges to cross, and leads to the refreshing “Salto de Javira” waterfall where you can swim in a natural pool and watch endemic birds. Enjoy a delicious lunch in an on-site restaurant. Return to the hotels around 5 pm.
